I’m not talking about hard drugs and we all know about cigarettes – tobacco or other.
But what about needing a coffee to start your day? Very few people only drink one cup.
If I weren’t allergic to it now, I’d probably be as hooked as I was as a student. Instead, I’ve recouped with tea-free infusions of ginger & lemon or liquorice & mint; addictive in their own comfort-giving way.
Alcohol has to be somewhere at the top, and why not love?
That is where I have decided to draw the line.
So many of my other activities have been governed by my addiction to socialising on FaceBook that I have finally decided to reduce my intake. I am going to set the limits and see how rigorously I can stand by them. Six hours a week already sounds like a lot of time, but I am pretty sure I spend twice that with the groups I belong to, the little games I play and the time spent interacting with the 211 friends I have accumulated. Admittedly, dealings with a third of them is only brief and occasional but honestly –unnecessary.
Just glad I don’t have to fight addiction to cigarettes or alcohol.
Chilli chocolate is a daily struggle on its own!
